Police charge person for using illicit drugs in front of OPP detachment

One person was arrested and charged for using illicit drugs in front of a local OPP detachment.

According to Huron County OPP, on September 2 just after 11 a.m., officers at the OPP detachment office in Clinton spotted a person outside the building on the property.

Officers went and spoke to the person, and discovered they were "actively using an illegal drug," according to the OPP.

The suspect was arrested and searched, and police found a quantity of suspected methamphetamine the suspect was in possession of. The total value of the illegal drugs is estimated at $10,500.

A 36-year-old of no fixed address is now facing charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and fail to comply with probation.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on October 6, 2025.
