Wellington County OPP have charged two more people in the 2019 murder of Jason Brown.
On March 13, 2019, the body of Jason Brown, a 43-year-old resident of Kitchener, was found in the Oshawa area of Durham Region. Brown had been abducted from the Minto Township area, having been last seen the evening before on Jessie Street in Harriston.
In 2023, Wellington County OPP charged two people with the murder of Brown. Another suspect was arrested and charged in 2024.
Now, police have confirmed that two more suspects have been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of Brown following further investigation.
Mathew Drumond, 38, of London and 35-year-old Jessica Martin of North Perth are both facing first degree murder charges, alongside a list of other offences.
Both of the newly accused will make their next court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on February 3, 2025 to answer to the charges, which have yet to be tried in a court of law.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and with the assistance of the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit.
