Grey Bruce Airbus permanently ceases operations

Grey Bruce Airbus has announced that it has ceased operations permanently.

The transportation service that has served Grey and Bruce counties for 35 years says the decision was made after much consideration.

It had suspended daily runs to Pearson International Airport in Toronto in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and subsequently suspended all operations later that year.

As of December 2019, the service had been providing Owen Sound with four daily round trip bus routes at two locations in the city to Pearson Airport, and several locations in between.

A note on the Grey Bruce Airbus Facebook page says while they realize they were a vital service to the area, it is "too difficult to bring back the shared ride and cost-effective method without government subsidies."
