West Grey Police Service partners with Georgian College to offer mentoring program with Police Foundations students

The West Grey Police Service has partnered with Georgian College to offer a mentoring program with Police Foundations students.

Starting on February 9th, West Grey Police Service will be doing a 5 week program with students tackling a number of different aspects of policing. Topics covered will include Next of Kin Notifications, Suicide, Officer Wellness, Crime Victims, Domestic Violence and Abuse, Child Abuse and 911 Response. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the mentoring will be done virtually between the student and the mentor officer or in-person with proper safety precautions in place if need be.

The goal of the partnership is to provide Georgian College Police Foundations students with a more in-depth and personal insight into many different and difficult aspects of policing with assistance from the West Grey Police Service.
