Bruce County is encouraging residents to share the road this February as part of Winter Commute Month.
The initiative promotes carpooling and other sustainable commuting options through the Smart Commute program, with prizes available for participants who log their trips online.
"Winter Commute Month is a great reminder that no matter the season, we can make choices to share our commute to help connect people, share travel costs and improve sustainability," said Claire Dodds, Bruce County’s commissioner of community development.
Residents can sign up to track one-way commutes, with each trip counting as an entry into a draw for one of five 100-dollar shop-local gift certificates.
Bruce County joined the Smart Commute program in 2024, alongside other Ontario municipalities promoting more efficient and sustainable transportation.
