Residents and visitors to Stratford that receive texts about parking tickets should ignore those messages.
The City of Stratford said it was recently made aware of another possible scam attempt involving text messages about unpaid parking tickets.
Similar scams have been circulating in communities across Canada.
The City assures the public it would never send a text message about an outstanding parking ticket, and that tickets cannot be paid through text.
If you receive such a message, do not click on the link or provide payment details. Instead, report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
