Lake Huron Coastal Centre looks for beach clean-up volunteers

The Lake Huron Coastal Centre (LHCC) is looking for volunteers to help at the annual beach clean up in celebration of Earth Day.

The Goderich Beach Clean-Up goes Saturday, April 18 from 1 to 3 pm at St. Christopher’s Beach.

Individuals, families, community groups, and businesses are all encouraged to participate and can sign up online.

After the clean-up, volunteers are invited to stay and enjoy a free beach BBQ provided by Zehrs Goderich as a thank-you for their efforts.

LHCC said it wants to build on the success of last year’s event, which saw 147 volunteers remove 270 pounds of litter from the Goderich shoreline. Organizers hope to make an even greater impact this year while continuing to raise awareness about plastic pollution in the Great Lakes.
