Police lay charges after officer gets assaulted in Arthur

Wellington County OPP laid charges against an Arthur man after an officer was assaulted.

According to police, officers responded to an incident at an address in Arthur on January 23 at 8:30 p.m.

Police say after they arrived, one person became "aggressive with responding officers." As a result, a 34-year-old from Arthur is now charged with assault a peace officer and fail to comply with probation order.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 27.

Wellington County OPP add that the accused's name is being withheld, out of concern for their well being.
