Georgian Bluffs has a full slate of events planned to celebrate Canada Day surrounded by the natural beauty of Georgian Bay.
On Tuesday, July 1, residents and visitors alike are invited to gather at Big Bay Dock for a morning of relaxation, reflection, and good old Canadian fun.
The festivities begin at 8 a.m. with a refreshing yoga session on the dock led by Julie Bradley-Low, CYT, from Stonegrove Farm & Wellness Studio. No registration is required, just bring a mat and enjoy stretching and breathing with a view of the water.
At 9 a.m., the community will come together for a flag-raising ceremony featuring a performance of O Canada and remarks from local dignitaries. It’s an opportunity to reflect on what it means to be Canadian and to share a moment of unity with friends and neighbours.
Following the ceremony, attendees can enjoy a free pancake breakfast by the water, served up by Heat N Eat. Naturally, maple syrup will be on hand to make the morning extra sweet.
With parking limited at Big Bay Dock, organizers are encouraging guests to walk, bike, or carpool whenever possible, keeping the shoreline clean and reducing congestion so everyone can enjoy the natural setting.
To cap off the day, people can head to Cobble Beach for an evening of live music, wood-fired pizza, specialty Canadian cocktails, and a free fireworks display over Georgian Bay.
Georgian Bluffs thanked event sponsors Eh! Tel and Hutten & Co. Landscaping for supporting this community celebration.
