New housing is planned on Golf Links Road in Kincardine.
Bradstones Developments Inc. is moving forward with plans to develop a 1.7-hectare tract of land.
The development will include 36 townhouse units, an internal private road, visitor parking, a storm water management pond, and other typical residential features.
This comes after the draft Plan of Vacant Land Condominium (VLC) was approved by Bruce County Council on July 13, 2023.
According to the municipality of Kincardine, numerous reports and studies are part of the process, including design considerations for functional servicing, storm water management, archaeology, environmental and species at risk assessments.
Bradstones has signed a formal agreement with the Municipality after providing it with the proper assessments throughout the site plan approval procedure.
“As the Municipality continues to attract more commercial investments, particularly in the nuclear sector, it’s important that we have an adequate supply of housing to meet the demand,” noted mayor Kenneth Craig. “Last year, we conducted a municipal housing survey. With over 1,000 responses, there was a lot of interest shown in townhouse units.”
“The proposed development is currently undergoing a Site Plan Control application and a Pre-Servicing Agreement which outline how the site is both developed and serviced,” noted Adam Weishar, Director of Infrastructure and Development.
