Huron-Kinloss man charged twice over the weekend

A 59-year-old Huron-Kinloss man is facing charges after being taken into police custody twice over the weekend for alleged assaults.

On Saturday, May 10, around 6:30 p.m., South Bruce OPP responded to a disturbance along Havelock Street in the Township of Huron-Kinloss.

According to police, the 59-year-old man allegedly brandished an "edged weapon" after a dispute over property. He was placed under arrest, held in custody for a bail hearing, and subsequently released.

The following day, May 11, at approximately 3:30 p.m., OPP received a report of an assault at a residence along Havelock Street.

Police said the same man had allegedly committed an assault on another person. He was placed under arrest again and held in custody for a bail hearing.

The man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
