Registration is now open for the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's.
The event takes place on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at Kingston Park in Chatham, and this year's walk is extra special.
"The Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham-Kent (ASCK) is celebrating 40 years of dementia care in the community," said Joel Emery, Fundraising and Community Engagement Coordinator. "So we're going to have little elements of that throughout the walk, but it's going to be another meaningful and fun event."
Emery adds that the walk is very meaningful, but also fun.
"It's very family-friendly. We have lots of activities, so if anyone has any mobile concerns, they don't have to walk," said Emery. "We're going to have a Petting Farm, there's a barbecue, there's painting activities, there's other interactive activities, live music."

A number of special events are planned throughout the month of May to mark 40 years of ASCK. There is a Pint-Sized Quiz Night at Red Barn Brewing on Tuesday, May 26, and a portion of Bingo sales at Riverview Gaming Centre in May will be donated to the organization.
The 50/50 Raffle is also back with final draw taking place on Friday, June 5. Proceeds will benefit ASCK programs and services. To purchase tickets, you can stop by their office at 36 Memory Lane in Chatham, or go online to www.asck5050.com.
