A local kidney disease advocate is hoping to provide a fun evening out while raising money to support the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
Paul Wright said the Comedy Night Fundraiser, held in partnership with Yuk Yuks, will be held on February 21 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Corunna - Branch 447.
Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show will begin at 8 p.m.
"It's a 90-minute show, three comedians are coming in to put on a night of fun," he said. "We've got 180 tickets to sell so we would love to be able to see as many people out."
The comedians will include Andrew Barr and Christophe Davidson, with headliner Fiona O'Brien.
"[She's] an Irish comedian. Watched her videos and fell in love with her right away, so I think she's going to have a really good show," Wright said.
Tickets are $50 each. Attendees must be at least 19 years old. Ticket orders, e-transfers, and inquiries can be sent to kmlivingonlove@gmail.com.
"We're trying to raise as much funds as possible to be able to help toward finding a cure for kidney disease," he said.
Wright regularly raises funds for the foundation with his team, Living on Love, through the annual Kidney March, which will be held from September 11 to September 13.
Last year, the Living on Love group held a three-day trek in Lambton County, but this year, they're going back out to Calgary.
"It's three days, 100 kilometres," he said.
Wright said he and his wife will participate in the march itself, while his father-in-law (and possibly his daughter, Abby) will help as a member of the crew. Terri-Lynn Thomson will also participate as a member of the team as her partner continues to wait for a kidney.
