Sarnia Sting's 2017/18 Schedule Released

The Sarnia Sting's schedule has been announced for the upcoming Ontario Hockey League season.

It gets underway September 22 in Guelph, with the Sting hosting Kitchener in their home opener the following night.

Sting spokesman Dach Hiller says there are just four Wednesday home games on the schedule compared to nine last season.

"The nine Wednesdays was just too much," says Hiller. "Season ticket holders were missing games because of work and kids' hockey practices and stuff like that. That was our main focus with the league, was taking those Wednesday games down but still limiting our three in threes for the hockey club."

Highlights include the annual new years home and home with the London Knights, and the Teddy Bear Toss December 3.

Sarnia will get their northern road trips out of the way early in the season.

They'll travel to North Bay, Sudbury, and Barrie from October 19 to 21 and Peterborough, Kingston, and Ottawa from November 2 to 5.

The Sting will play most of their home games on Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday afternoons.

They'll have games on Thanksgiving Monday and Family Day at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
