The Grey Bruce OPP conducted a search at Bluewater Park in Wiarton Tuesday afternoon, but found nothing.
In a social media post, West Region OPP said the search was part of an ongoing investigation. Photos of the scene showed a section of the park is fenced off, and a backhoe digging up dirt.
However, around 8:20 p.m., police shared that the search did not "produce any relevant results."
"Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not confirm or identify the specific investigation," wrote West Region OPP.
Police say there is no concern for public safety at this time.
They thanked everyone for their cooperation, including the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
