Perth County OPP are asking for the public's help as investigators probe the theft of multiple road signs.
According to police, the signs in Perth East have been disappearing over the past several months. Details about what type of signs are being targeted and how many have been removed have not been released.
On Tuesday, police issued a public plea for anyone who has information about the acts of mischief and thefts to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
Stealing road signs, particularly stop signs, is considered a serious criminal offence in Ontario. Charges can include theft, mischief, and criminal negligence if someone is injured as a result of a missing sign. Convictions for removing road signs can come with hefty fines and even jail time.
