Georgian Bluffs woman wins $250,000

A Georgian Bluffs resident won a quarter of a million dollars on an instant crossword.

Wanda Swanson of Shallow Lake purchased the winning ticket at the Econo Gas on 2nd Avenue in Owen Sound.

Swanson said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto that she's been playing for decades and this was her first big win.

“I was at home watching TV when I played my ticket," she said. "I started to match a lot of words and I said to my husband, ‘I think I won the big one!’ I had to pull out my phone and double check on the OLG app. I saw the Big Winner screen and I was shocked! It’s a pretty surreal experience. This win brings me so many wonderful opportunities."

She plans to share her winning with her husband and children, organizing a special bucket list trip.
