Fake firearms result in charges for South Bruce man

A South Bruce man is facing weapons charges after reports he was brandishing a handgun in downtown Kincardine last month.

South Bruce OPP say they received a report of a man with a handgun outside of a business along Queen Street on March 3 around 10 a.m.

On Tuesday, the OPP executed a search warrant at a residence in South Bruce, where police seized three imitation firearms and ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, police charged a 42-year-old man with assault with a weapon, using an imitation firearm while committing offence and possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
