The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada has received a $112,500 donation from Bruce Power and its supplier partners.
This is brain Tumour Awareness Week, and Bruce Power marked the occasion with a $75,000 donation, while about 40 members of the nuclear supply chain kicked in $37,500.
The money will help the Brain Tumour Foundation offer resources and support to people on their brain tumour journey, as well as their families.
The Bruce Power Supplier Sponsorship Program saw 44 suppliers raise nearly $700,000. so far this year for local, provincial and national non-profit organizations that focus on Indigenous youth, health and wellness organizations, Canadian veterans, community initiatives, and hospital foundations
“Employees of Bruce Power hold the work of the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada close to their hearts because we’re one of the world’s largest suppliers of the medical isotope cobalt-60, which is used to treat brain tumours and breast cancer, as well as sterilize billions of medical devices every year,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO. “We are proud to support the Brain Tumour Foundation in its important work, supporting people with brain tumours and their families.”
