The West Grey Library has recruited its own special force to help give new life to broken household goods.
The Library’s FBI: Fix Broken Items event takes place this Saturday, September 19 at the Durham Town Hall from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The West Grey Library partners with Earth Works West Grey for this popular free session in which residents get the help of volunteer fixers to revive of their favourite household items.
People are encourage to toss busted, lightweight belongings into the car to discover whether they can be saved from the scrap heap. The repair team will tackle anything from flickering lamps, buzzing fans, and torn garments to wobbly side tables, action figures, yard tools, small motors, and beloved stuffed animals.
Participants need to supply any unique replacement components required for the job, while the skilled handypeople bring the expertise, general supplies like screws and nails, and standard toolkits to get the work done.
