Grey Bruce Hospice has announced a new Executive Director.
As of September 20, Dr. Sabrina Saunders will assume the role. It was announced via a release from Grey Bruce Hospice's current Executive Director, Janet Fairbridge.
Dr. Saunders is Delaware and Mohawk from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, and has resided in Grey Bruce for the last 6 years. She began her time with the hospice as a member of the board in November of 2020. Dr. Saunders acted as the "shadow" Executive Director from May to October of 2022 due to a staffing shortage, familiarizing herself with the staff and the hospice's procedures.
Additionally, Dr. Saunders has over 17 years of experience in executive leadership, as well as decades working for provincial policy and organizational change.

“The transition will occur officially at the Annual General Meeting of Grey Bruce Hospice on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, where we will welcome Dr. Sabrina Saunders as our new ED. We thank Janet Fairbridge for the tireless work she has performed for Grey Bruce Hospice since she became our Executive Director two years ago. We wish Janet well in her new role with the United Way of Thunder Bay," said Board Chair Bill Pearson.
