The Special Advisors to Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health say two members have been appointed to the renewed Board of Health for the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit.
The province assumed control of the board in August 2025, and has spent most of the time since then discussing governance issues and developing a "skills‑based matrix" to guide the formation of a new board.
In February, it was announced that they would be concluding the terms of the existing Board members and begin to consider new appointments.
On March 12, the province appointed two members to the Board: David Nusko and Chad Richards. Richards, a Senior Strategist with Bruce Power, was a provincial appointee on the previous Board of Health that Dr. Kieran Moore took control over, citing "serious concerns" over how it was governed.
An update issued by Special Advisors to Moore, Jim Pine and Dr Eileen de Villa said that up to four more provincial members may still be appointed.
Grey and Bruce Counties are separately proceeding with their respective processes for appointing the seven municipal members.
"We are encouraged by this important step toward a reconstituted board and look forward to working with all members once the board is fully appointed," said the update from Pine and de Villa.
No timeline was given for when the new board will be in place.
