Blenheim hosting 40th annual Cherry Fest

A long-standing summer festival in Chatham-Kent will mark a significant milestone Thursday when Cherry Fest opens in Blenheim.

From Thursday to Saturday, Blenheim will be transformed into a vibrant hub of celebration for the 40th annual Cherry Fest event, offering fun-filled activities, free entertainment, and special deals at local businesses.

The festival celebrates the region's rich cherry harvest with various activities and attractions for all ages including live performances by talented artists, musicians, and entertainers.

Organizer J.P Huggins told Dave and Cheryl on Country 92.9 CFCO said they will be bringing in two professional street performers this year and the event will also have a children's entertainer, BarryO.

In addition to the entertainment, Cherry Fest will feature deals at local businesses, which will open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in Downtown Blenheim.

Huggins said there will be midway rides with $25 ride-all-day passes available.

Cherry Fest will also host the Canadian National Cherry Pit Spit once again this year with the Pit Spit tryouts from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and the competition taking place at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

You can find more information and a full schedule of events on the Cherry Fest Facebook page.
