Victim in fatal crash identified by police

Huron County OPP have released the identity of the victim of a fatal crash near Clinton.

On January 12 just before 1 p.m., police responded to a report of a three vehicle crash on Huron Road just east of Clinton. Officers responded alongside members of Huron County EMS to find a pick-up truck, a car and a transport truck involved in the collision. The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased. The driver has been identified as 44-year-old Michael Oakes of Central Huron.

The pick-up truck driver had minor injuries at the scene and the transport truck driver was unharmed. The OPP continues to investigate the crash along with members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team and the Coroner's Office. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact Huron County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
