Suspect identified in fleeing incident near Paisley

Ontario Provincial Police have identified a 23-year-old man wanted in connection with an incident in which officers were struck by a vehicle.

It happened just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers were investigating the truck at an address on Greenock-Elderslie Townline in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, when a suspect in the vehicle fled the scene, and struck two police vehicles. One officer then fired a service weapon at the suspect with “unknown results”.

An officer was injured in the crash caused by the driver and was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Jeremy Jason Hogg, whose last known address was in Hanover, is wanted for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Hogg is described as a white male, 5' 8", 152 pounds, with a thin build, brown hair and blue eyes. He has been known to frequent the West Grey and Brockton areas.

The vehicle is described as a black Dodge 3500 pickup truck with bar lights on the top and dual wheels.  It’s believed that the suspect was the only one in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Police are asking the public not to approach the suspect or the vehicle if it is spotted, but to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web tip.
