Huron County's Food Bank Distribution Centre is the recipient of a Trillium Grant for almost $71,000.
Executive Director MaryEllen Zielman says the money will be used to help them track where the food is currently going, and improve the distribution of food to the food banks in rural Huron County.
Zielman explains by tracking the distribution of food they can assess where the need might be greater and then find ways to get more food into that area.
The grant will also help them test their unique rural approach to food insecurity and allow them to hire a project co-ordinator to run their program.
