Liberal Senator Jim Munson will be in the area today.
He'll be taking part in two events sponsored jointly by the Federal Liberal associations in Huron-Bruce and Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.
The first event is at 1pm this afternoon at the Lakeshore Recreation Complex in Port Elgin. Senator Munson will be discussing human rights and social issues, from the rights of the child, to challenges related to Canada's senior population.
This evening, he's the keynote speaker at a presentation at Duff's United Church in Walton. That session will focus on challenges facing families dealing with Autism.
Senator Munson has been an advocate for greater awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder and a leader in the call for a comprehensive national strategy on the issue.
His speech and question-and-answer session in Walton is free. It starts at 7pm tonight.
