Weather forecasters kept an eye on the skies for the possibility of funnel clouds on Friday night.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Huron, Perth, Elgin, Oxford, and Middlesex Counties.
"These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms," read the statement from Environment Canada. "This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado."
The weather agency cancelled the weather statement at around 9 p.m. Friday.
