The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth is hosting a fundraiser this weekend.
The Paws on Pavement event will see pop-up stations and BBQs happening across five local businesses, with four being in the KW region and one in Stratford at The Barkery on Downie Street on Saturday, June 27 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
These pop-up events will be accepting donations to the humane society's Better Together Capital Campaign. In 2025, the combined efforts of volunteers, participating businesses and groups, as well as the public helped the humane society exceed its fundraising goal by over 50 percent.
The Better Together Campaign is working toward building a new Community Outreach Centre that will "significantly increase access to vital programs, including pet food support, veterinary outreach, animal welfare and education, community services and more," according to a media release from the humane society.
