Huron Shores Hospice will be hosting a series of upcoming Death Cafés, aimed at helping people deal with the grief of losing a loved one.
Hosted in a relaxing café setting, these sessions are meant to "share thoughts, ask any questions, and explore perspectives on one of life’s most universal experiences. With coffee, tea, and light refreshments provided, Death Cafés create a safe and inclusive space for meaningful connection," according to a media release from Huron Shores Hospice.
The upcoming death cafés will be held on April 14 at the Paisley Legion form 10-11 a.m., May 5 at the Southampton Chantry Centre from 4-5:30 p.m. and May 12 at the Paisley Orchard's Landing from 10-11:30 a.m.
All the sessions are open to anyone, whether they want to actively share their thoughts and experiences or just listen. These events are free to attend and rely on the hospice's community fundraising events, including the upcoming Hike for Hospice on May 9.
"At Huron Shores Hospice, we believe that talking about death can help people live more fully," said Jessica Daneluk, Community Engagement Coordinator. "These conversations can reduce fear, foster understanding, and even help individuals communicate their wishes with loved ones."
