Bruce Power and its supplier partners have donated $20,000 to ChildCan for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which runs all of September.
ChildCan is a not-for-profit organization that helps families and children deal with cancer diagnoses, providing financial assistance and support. That includes free parking passes at London Health Sciences Centre, as well as helping to cover costs like travel, groceries, or paying utilities, as many parents need to take time off work to be with their sick child during treatment.
In a media release to announce the donation, Bruce Power shared that it and its supplier partners "continue to stand strong with Childcan in its support of personalized, responsive, and compassionate programs and services to children and families in need of care."
ChildCan serves roughly 25 per cent of all children receiving cancer treatments, as well as their families, across all of Ontario.
