United Way Perth Huron (UWPH) has received over $8,000 from three local Tim Hortons from the sale of smile cookies.
A release from United Way shares that the Tim Hortons in Blyth, Clinton and Seaforth raised a total of $16,464 from the annual smile cookie campaign.
Those funds are being split 50/50 between UWPH’s Urgent Needs Fund and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
That means United Way Perth Huron has received $8,232 for its Urgent Needs Fund, which is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year through the 211 helpline.
It provides financial support for essentials such as rent arrears, winter clothing, car repairs, groceries and more.
"We’d like to thank Dan Moynihan and his staff, the volunteer cookie decorators and everyone who bought Smile Cookies," said Michelle Millar, UWPH Manager Community Development in Mid-Huron. "Thanks to the community, we can help ensure vulnerable people in Huron have the chance for a brighter future."
