The United Way Perth Huron is bringing a new morning three part series to Goderich in February.
The "Wake Up Wednesdays" series will be held at the Goderich Legion’s Café 109 on February 4, 11 and 18 from 9 to 10 a.m.
The first session, called "Why We Walk," examines the purpose behind the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser, and how funds raised support local programs addressing hurt, hunger and homelessness.
That will be followed by "Awareness to Action," will help people learn about the complexity of homelessness, evidence-based outcomes and the importance of housing as the first solution.
Finally, "United Way’s Hidden Gems" will share information on two local services offered by United Way, the 211 phone service and free tax clinics.
"When people understand the real stories behind homelessness, they want to take meaningful action," said Michelle Millar, UWPH Manager Community Development Mid-Huron. "These sessions help shine a light on pressing challenges, resources and solutions, leading us to an even stronger, more unified community that’s working toward lasting change."
