Municipal Matters public meetings planned in Kincardine

The Municipality of Kincardine is launching a new way for residents and business owners to speak directly with local leaders through a public meeting series called Municipal Matters.

The initiative is designed to give the community more direct access to Mayor Kenneth Craig and municipal staff while creating space for conversations about current issues and upcoming changes.

The first session is set for Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre in Tiverton. Running from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., the meeting will spotlight planned updates to the Blue Box recycling program. Mark O’Leary, the Municipality’s Manager of Environmental Services, will lead a presentation outlining what residents can expect as the system transitions.

Mayor Craig will be present to share municipal updates and to listen to questions and concerns from those attending. Guests will also be able to enjoy a hot chocolate bar and seasonal treats as part of the informal, community-focused setting.

“This new initiative is about creating more opportunities for our community to connect directly with municipal leadership,” said Mayor Kenneth Craig. “Municipal Matters is designed to give residents and local businesses a voice, so we can share timely information, answer questions, and hear firsthand what matters most to the people we serve.”

The Municipality expects to continue the series in early 2026 and will soon begin collecting feedback from the public about what topics should be featured next. The goal is to ensure that future meetings reflect the interests and priorities of residents while continuing to strengthen open communication between the public and municipal leaders.

Officials encourage the community to watch for announcements of upcoming sessions and participate by sharing questions and ideas to guide future discussions. Municipal Matters supports the Municipality’s commitment to open, ongoing engagement, emphasizing the message: “What matters to you, matters to us.”
