Contest open to young writers from Grey and Bruce

Budding authors and poets in Grey and Bruce Counties are invited to showcase their talent in the 2025 Write @ Your Library creative writing contest.

Open to students in Grades 7 through 12, the contest is now accepting submissions of short stories and poems. Winning entries will earn cash prizes of up to $100 and be published in the Write for 2025 anthology.

In addition to writing, young artists can also contribute their creativity to the cover of the anthology. The chosen cover design will be awarded a $100 prize.

Guidelines for both the writing and design competitions are available at public libraries throughout Grey and Bruce Counties, or can be downloaded from the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library’s website at www.osngupl.ca.

Submissions must be sent by email to schamberlain@library.osngupl.ca no later than Friday, October 24, 2025.

The contest is coordinated by the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, with support from The United Way, The Ginger Press, Bruce County Public Library, Grey Highlands Public Library, Hanover Public Library, Meaford Public Library, Southgate Public Library, and West Grey Public Library.
