South Huron lowering speed limits on urban streets

The Municipality of South Huron is implementing new 40km/h speed limits on all urban municipal roads to improve community safety.

The Municipality had been piloting the idea over previous years and a report to council from staff found the lower limits had a noticeable reduction on speed with no impact on the flow of traffic.

Existing community safety zones will remain at 30 km/h.

There are some exceptions to the new limit, like Huron Street East and Goshen Line, as well as all roads under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transportation or the County of Huron.

You can find the full list of exceptions at the South Huron website.
