Avon Maitland school board hosting 4th Annual Feast to celebrate Indigenous culture

The Avon Maitland District School Board is inviting the public to take part in its 4th Annual Feast, celebrating Indigenous culture.

The event is set for Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 62 Chalk Street North in Seaforth. "We invite our community to join us as we celebrate Indigenous culture and come together in the spirit of learning, connection, and celebration," said Indigenous Education Lead Matt Baker.

The afternoon will include food, drumming, singing, cultural teachings, and workshops. Guest speakers, including Chief Conrad Ritchie, Kris Keeshig, and Paul Nadjiwon will also be featured, along with traditional powwow drumming and dancing.

The first 200 registered participants will receive a free meal prepared by Chiblow Fish, and there will also be vendors, door prizes, and opportunities to learn from Knowledge Carriers.
