Residents in West Perth will soon have a chance to weigh in on the future of the Mitchell Arena.
The municipality is holding a community open house on Monday, September 29, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the arena’s activity room.
Officials are asking for public input on redevelopment options, following a report earlier this year that estimated $2 to $2.5 million is needed to replace the rink floor and refrigeration system, which are at the end of their lifespan.
Additional roof and building repairs could bring the total cost closer to $4 million.
Feedback gathered at the open house will help council decide how to prioritize arena upgrades alongside other municipal projects.
