Humane Society launches new monthly giving program

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is making it easier for animal lovers to make a lasting difference with the launch of The Give Back Pack, a new monthly giving program designed to provide steady support for homeless and vulnerable pets.

Unlike many community services, HSKWSP receives no government funding for its charitable programs. Instead, it relies entirely on donors to provide animal care, community education, and outreach. With the new initiative, supporters can direct their generosity to the area of care that means the most to them, whether that’s cats, dogs, small animals, or the Pet Pantry, which helps struggling families keep their beloved pets at home.

Monthly gifts ensure consistent funding so that urgent medical treatment is never delayed, animals always have access to enrichment and training, and families experiencing hardship can continue to care for their pets. Donors who join will also receive special stories and behind-the-scenes updates, offering a closer connection to the animals they are helping.

The program offers three levels of giving, starting at $20 a month, and provides opportunities to sponsor pets or support community programs. Kathryn Ladano, Senior Development Officer at HSKWSP, said the initiative helps build a strong network of support for animals across the region.

“By joining the Give Back Pack, you’re becoming part of a community dedicated to helping a variety of animals get care and second chances,” said Kathryn Ladano, Senior Development Officer at HSKWSP. “Every dollar you give goes directly to what you care most about.”
