Hanover man wins nearly $100,000

A Hanover man is nearly $100,000 richer after coming second in a Lotto 6/49 draw over the summer.

Andrew Harron collected a second prize worth $99,641.10 in the July 5 draw.

Harron, a delivery driver, says he's been a loyal lottery player with OLG for over 30 years.

"I decided to buy my tickets prior to leaving for vacation, while fueling up the car," he said while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas+ on 10th Street in Hanover. Harron waited about a week after the draw before checking his tickets.

"They were just sitting in my wallet. I was waiting to go play golf with my son when I scanned this ticket using the OLG app on my phone. When I saw the prize amount, I was surprised. I initially thought I’d won $99, but then I noticed the words 'Big Winner,'" he said.

Harron plans to put his winnings toward retirement and looks forward to spending more time on the golf course.
