Traffic calming pilot coming to Wellington North

The Town of Wellington North will implement a new traffic calming pilot project this fall, to try and address residents concerns about speeding in several areas.

The town will install radar signs on Concession 11 in Farewell and Sideroad 3 west south of Mount Forest, as well as flexible centre line delineators along Domville Street in Arthur and Church Street North in Mount Forest.

The pilot will run all through next year before staff report back to council. The cost is around $35,000.

Mount Forest is home to one of Wellington County’s seven Automated Speed Enforcement cameras.

Over the first five months of that pilot program (from January 15 to May 31), Mount Forest’s camera issued the fewest tickets at just under 1,500.
