Huron County and Bruce County are highlighting local public works employees and paramedics during National Public Works Week and Paramedic Week.
Both celebratory weeks run May 18-24.
According to a media release from Huron County, National Public Works Week is an annual event that "highlights the essential role Public Works professionals play in supporting the safety, accessibility, and quality of life for Huron County residents."
Meanwhile, Nation al Paramedic Week is an opportunity to "recognize and thank the dedicated professionals who provide life-saving care to Huron County residents every day," according to the media release.
Huron County has more than 100 paramedics, who are supported by supervisory and administrative staff.
"Huron’s Public Works team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the well-being of our community," said Huron County Warden Jamie Heffer. "Their hard work and dedication are truly commendable. Huron County’s paramedics are truly remarkable. Their knowledge, compassion, and calm under pressure make an incredible difference in people’s lives. This week is an important time to thank them for their commitment to keeping our communities safe and healthy."
