Grey Bruce OPP seek auxiliary members

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is inviting community members to join its Auxiliary Unit, offering a volunteer opportunity to support local law enforcement.

The OPP Auxiliary Unit consists of dedicated volunteers who assist regular force officers in ensuring public safety. Auxiliary members participate in patrols, community events, RIDE initiatives, safety presentations, victim assistance, and other duties. While the position is unpaid, it offers valuable experience and a chance to make a meaningful contribution to the community.

Applicants must meet specific qualifications, including being at least 18-years-old, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and holding a valid Class 'G' driver’s license. Candidates must also have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or the equivalent, possess a clean criminal record, and pass a series of assessments.

All successful candidates will undergo an eight-day Auxiliary Recruit Training Course and are required to commit to ten hours of patrol and six hours of training per month.
