With just days remaining until Owen Sound's Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser, Safe 'N Sound is rallying the Grey Bruce community to participate in this critical fundraising event.
The goal is to raise $70,000 to support individuals facing hunger, homelessness, and poverty in the region.
As the housing crisis worsens, Safe 'N Sound remains dedicated to providing essential services such as food, clothing, and a welcoming safe space for those in need.
However, current funding limitations hinder the organization's ability to meet the growing demands of its participants fully.
The organization seeks increased community support to sustain and potentially expand these crucial services.
“We are at a pivotal moment where every donation counts,” said Wren Laurel, Fundraising and Communications Manager at Safe 'N Sound. "By uniting with us for Coldest Night of the Year, you are helping us ensure that fundamental rights like access to food, water, safety, and a roof overhead are upheld in our community. While governments play a crucial role and we encourage them to do more, grassroots initiatives like ours rely on collective action of our community to fill the funding gaps and provide the care our neighbours deserve.”
The event encourages teams and individuals to register and start fundraising to help Safe ‘N Sound achieve its $70,000 target.
The family-friendly event on February 22 will feature activities, complimentary food and drinks, and an outdoor fire to keep walkers warm and engaged.
