Wednesday's morning commute across midwestern Ontario is a dicey one.
Snow squalls off of Lake Huron have continued to dump heavy snow across the region, with 5 to 15 centimetres expected to fall throughout the day.
Northern Huron, northern Perth, Grey, and Bruce counties are all under a snow squall warning. A snow squall warning for southern Huron and southern Perth was ended shortly before 11:20 a.m.
According to Environment Canada, in Huron and Perth the squalls will shift north through the morning and ease to flurries in the afternoon, while in Grey and Bruce the squalls won't weaken until late in the day.
"Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations," said Environment Canada. "Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Road closures are possible."
The national weather agency is recommending people consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Environment Canada expects local snow squalls could return Thursday, packing another 10 centimetres. For Friday and through the weekend, cloudy conditions are forecast with a chance of flurries all three days.
