The Township of Huron-Kinloss celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of the newly renovated Ripley Medical and Childcare Centre.
The state-of-the-art facility is set to provide critical medical and childcare services to the community. Mayor Don Murray hailed the achievement as a pivotal moment for the region.

With these renovations, we’re proud to welcome back Dr. Murray and the Kincardine Family Health Team and to provide much- needed support for local families. The Ripley Medical Centre will now host a range of essential healthcare services. Dr. Jason Murray will treat patients on Fridays. The Kincardine Family Health Team (KFHT) will operate the Unattached Patient Clinic for individuals without a local family physician on Mondays and Thursdays, and there will be weekly visits from Interdisciplinary Providers such as a midwife, occupational therapist, dietitian, kinesiologist, and registered nurse.
The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey-Bruce reopened its updated childcare facilities on September 4, featuring a reimagined layout with brighter, more spacious rooms. The renovations have increased the centre’s capacity to accommodate 15 toddlers and 24 preschoolers, up from 10 toddlers and 16 preschoolers previously. The facility continues to provide safe, affordable, and accessible childcare for local families.
The facicity was developed in collaboration with the Kincardine Family Health Team (KFHT), Dr. Jason Murray, the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey-Bruce, the County of Bruce, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), and the Province of Ontario, The renovation aims to address pressing local needs by expanding licensed childcare spaces and revitalizing healthcare services. The renovations were made possible through contributions from the NWMO Near-Term Investment Fund, the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Childcare Start-up Grant, Miller Insurance, and the Community Well-Being Reserve Fund. This initiative underscores the community’s dedication to enhancing quality of life for its residents.
