A man has been arrested for a third time in just three days for property crimes in Owen Sound.
According to Owen Sound police, the latest incident happened around 11 p.m. on Monday when someone used credit cards stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the area of Ryerson Park to buy items from a nearby convenience store.
Police were able to identify a suspect and quickly arrested a man in connection with the theft.
"This is the third time that the accused has been arrested and charged for property crimes committed in Owen Sound in the past three days," police said in a statement Tuesday morning.
The man, who was not publicly identified, is charged with four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts each of unauthorized use of a credit card and failure to comply with an undertaking, and one count of theft under $5,000. These charges are in addition to those laid in the previous two incidents, police said.
The man remains in police custody pending a bail hearing.
The stolen credit cards were returned to their owner, police said.
The public is being reminded by police to always lock vehicles and store valuables out of sight.
