Residents in Dundalk are being asked to check their home surveillance as police work to identify a pair of suspects in a $100,000 break-in.
Grey Bruce OPP were called about a break and enter that was in progress at a home on Werry Avenue between Seeley Avenue and Russell Street around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday. Two men reportedly went inside and stole a large amount of items including Rolex watches, Cartier bracelets, liquor, and cash. The value of the stolen property is more than $100,000.
The homeowners were not home at the time, police said.
The men took off in a grey or blue SUV with the licence plate number CBME601. According to police, the plate was reported stolen and may have already been switched out by the suspects.
The suspects are described as Black men. One is approximately 6'6" with a slim build, while the other is approximately 5'10" with an average build. No photos of the suspects have been released.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area around the time of the break-in to check their home surveillance or dash-cam footage for any sign of the suspects or the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information can call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
