A Markdale institution has been deemed the World's Greatest, and will appear on the show bearing that name this weekend.
Chapman's Ice Cream will be the subject of an episode of the Bloomberg TV show World's Greatest, airing on November 23. The show has run for 18 years and highlights some of the most amazing and unique companies the world has to offer.
Ashley Chapman, Chief Operating Officer of Chapman’s Ice Cream, said it came together pretty quickly.
"Strangely enough, I got a call from them," he said. "There was a handful of companies in the United States that they were looking at and then they decided to broaden their scope and started looking at Canada. They called me the one day and said you've got a pretty impressive reputation online... so I went through an interview process and they said we'd like to do a segment on Chapman's Ice Cream."
Chapman says the segment was filmed over two months ago.
In a statement, show producer Robert Baccarie highlighted Chapman's as an ethical employer providing a "thriving wage to ensure employees have ample resources for their needs and well-being."
Chapman says the show is less focused on production and more on the employees.
"They wanted to talk to the people and do more of a people-focused video on us," he said. "They interviewed a whole bunch of our employees and talked about values... it ended up being a great little segment and if anybody wants to tell me I'm the World's Greatest at something, I'm all ears."
The 30-minute segment will premiere on Bloomberg TV on Saturday at 2 p.m. The show will also be available on the streaming platforms of Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
