Minto receives funding for holiday themed light display

The Town of Minto has received funding to help put on a holiday themed light display.

The town's Bright Lights & Festive Nights project successfully received support from the My Main Street Community Activator initiative.

This means the town can now install "additional holiday-themed lights in the Palmerston Lions Park and promote the community as a holiday destination," according to a media release from the Town of Minto.

Six additional light installations will now be featured on a light trail in Palmerston Lions Park.

The town is inviting residents and visitors to the official grand opening of the light trail at Light up the Park on November 15 at 6 p.m. More details can be found at www.allaboardpalmerston.ca.

“Ask any resident or volunteer in Minto and they will tell you that the holidays are a busy time in our community. We are so grateful to receive this support, which allows us to showcase the warmth, charm, and holiday spirit of our community to visitors from near and far. Think of ‘Stars Hollow’ from Gilmore Girls at Christmas time—that’s the inspiration for our downtown! We want to bring the magic of the season to as many people as possible while supporting our local businesses, community organizations, and downtown," shared Erin Raftis, Marketing and Community Development Coordinator for the Town of Minto.
